What is Deionised Water?

One of the transport chemicals that we supply is Deionised Water. But what is it and what is it actually used for?

What is it?
Deionised Water, or DL water, is water that has the ions removed. Normally, tap water is full of ions, which makes it not impractical for certain uses. In order for normal water to become deionised, it has to go through an ion exchange process. But why is this necessary? Continue reading “What is Deionised Water?”

Importance of Qualitative Chemical Analysis

Chemical analysis is crucial to knowing what substances you are handling and if there are any elements that shouldn’t be there.

The primary means of this is through qualitative chemical analysis.

Importance of chemical analysis

Chemical analysis and chemical testing is not to be underestimated – this has become a necessity following, and prior to, it’s invention.

It is rare that chemical analysis is performed only for the sake of knowing, it is ingrained into everybody’s life. Chemical analysis is essential of ensuring the chemical’s safety, quality, productivity, control, consistency, among other factors that affect everyday life.

Note that chemical testing can be divided into a few overlapping broad fields, most of them are named below:

– Biological
– Inorganic
– Instrumental
– Qualitative
– Quantitative
– Organic
– Wet (otherwise known as classical)

The types of samples that can be used can literally be anything including cloth, soil, plastic, gas, water, wood, liver tissue etc.

It is important that an accurate chemical analysis is conducted for safety precautions more.

Chemical Analysis – What is it?

Analysing chemicals is the art of chemistry – chemists study the chemistry of things: what something is made of, the behaviour and identifying certain chemicals.

Chemical AnalysisChemical analysis is a process that’s made up of two main types of analysis: qualitative and quantitative.

During qualitative analysis, each chemical assessment is usually performed on one substance at a time, the substance being referred to as the analyte.
The first thing to work out is understanding the properties of the substance, figuring out what makes the substance unique regarding what differentiates that substance to the rest.
Properties that are looked at could be the solvency, whether or not the substance reflects light or it absorbs light and so forth.

Post completion of a qualitative analysis, a quantitative analysis can then be performed, which is initially the process of calculating the quantity of chemicals in a mixed substance.

Analytical chemistry is utilised for a variety of fields and professions. Of course, doctors and those in the medical field use chemical analysis directly.
Pharmaceutical companies will rely on results produced by chemical analysis.

Chemical analysis is an important factor when dealing with chemicals ensuring they are safe to use.
